2023

While working for the Chinese edition of Food & Wine magazine, I captured the scene of a town Wuchang nearby my hometown in Northeast China through the lens. This summer’s global climate crisis hit the rice-producing region hard, with severe weather wreaking havoc on the land. Sudden reservoir failures delivered a devastating blow to an already struggling area, turning what was a natural disaster into a man-made calamity. After the floods, the land was overrun by frogs in a phenomenon reminiscent of a biblical plague.
